Description
Join Award-Winning Educator and Local Historian, Gary Ford, and the Project Fibonacci® Foundation, Inc. for the grand premiere of ‘Not Hype- Not the History You Probably Expect’ on Tuesday, July 19th at either 2:00 pm or 6:00 pm at the Rome Historical Society. The events will feature engaging historical discussion, the debut of an episode of the ‘Not Hype’ educational series, Q&A with the local legend himself, Gary Ford, lite refreshments, fascinating historical collections at the Rome Historical Society, and much more. Gary R. Ford is a retired history teacher of 33 years from Rome Free Academy and earned numerous awards including Teacher of the Year and Most Influential Teacher. He helped create and implement a Veterans Oral History Project in collaboration with the New York State Military Museum and the Library of Congress. Ford has served his community as being a Councilman for the Town of Marshall from 2005-2013, was a founding member and first Chairman of the Southern Oneida Council of Governments, a former Trustee of the Genesis Group of the Greater Mohawk valley and is the Program Facilitator for Legacy Now leadership program. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of 1777 by the Rome Historical Society and is currently the owner and operator of Whimsical Woodworks. This event is especially important as Gary Ford will soon be relocating from the area this summer. We invite you to join us to send him off with a special thank you for his service of educating our youth, for being an incredible member of our community, and to congratulate him on his future endeavors! The event is free to the public but with limited seating. Tickets should be reserved at EventBrite.com or through the Rome Historical Society 315-336-5870 For more information, visit ProjectFibonacci.org
