Collage Jazz presents a concert in honor of Black History Month at the Rome Art and Community Center on Monday, February 24 at 6:30 PM. The event features music of Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Sidney Bechet, Sonny Rollins, Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk and more. Collage is a five-piece ensemble based in Rome. Performing on this concert are Colleen O’Neil, clarinet; Rick Compton, flugelhorn; Joe Ferlo, guitar; Joe Karwacki, bass; and Patrick O’Neil, drums. The event is sponsored by The Music Performance Trust Fund, administered by Local 78 of the American Federation of Musicians. Admission to the concert is free and the public is welcome. Complimentary light refreshments will be available. Wine and beer will also be available for purchase by donation.
