Description
The first of our FREE Concert at The Center Series will feature one of your hometown bands - Pocket Change followed by Liz Fiddle and Jeff Ingersoll! The concert will be on the lawn so grab your chair and bring your friends, we have the rest covered so you can enjoy a one of a kind evening of bluegrass. Gates open at 6pm! There will be two performances, refreshments, and a food truck so no need to worry about dinner! Beer and wine will be available by donation and the music will be amazing as usual. First up will be Pocket Change which ain't your average string band. With soaring originals and unusual covers, this is an Americana band with a tilt towards bluegrass. Matt, Liz, Joe and Tim play acoustic music ranging from Bluegrass to Country to Punk to Jazz. "We like to think of our music as a blend of every music we've ever liked in our lives." says Matt Moore, founder of the group. Followed by Liz Fiddle and Jeff Ingersoll! Elizabeth “Liz Fiddle” Simchik. Liz has been entertaining audiences with her wild fiddling and powerhouse vocals for over 20 years. She’s an active part of everyone’s music scene, and is an integral part of music education in the alternative sector. A freelance musician and owner and operator of both Music With Liz studio and The State Bridge Collective, she is a versatile violinist and heavily involved in collaborations with many musicians. Her music draws influence from western, swing and her sound is very rootsy, Appalachian. Jeff Ingersoll Drawing from a deep well of influences ranging from the classic bluegrass of his childhood to the jazz, swing, Celtic and pop music he discovered during his tenure at ETSU, Ingersoll has earned accolades for his work with a broad spectrum of performing ensembles. In 2013, he secured first place in the Norwich Bluegrass Festival Band Competition as a member of the Ingersoll Brothers. Jeff and Liz started making music together late in 2022 and have been exhilarating audiences throughout the east coast ever since. Though each of them have a unique set of varied influences, they find common ground in singer/songwriter, folk and American genres of music. They are equally at home performing at a small business, concert hall or theater, church, or private function. The two wield a beautiful folk-grass sound. They have moments of harmonic beauty and fire through bluegrass standards while blending the accompaniment of fiddle and guitar. A foot-stomping good time with respect to traditional roots.
