Description
Join us for the very first showing of WCNY’s Erie: The Canal That Made America – a new locally produced one-hour documentary. Narrated by Emmy-award winning journalist David Muir, this documentary shares the story of how the conception and creation of the Erie Canal turned the United States, which was essentially a third world country at the start of the canal’s construction in 1817, into the richest nation in the world, and became a hub for economic transcendence. Kick off the night by meeting the Erie producers, followed by a Q&A with Canal experts featured in the film. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The showing will begin at 7 p.m. Appetizers and canal fare, including the popular drink of the day, Ginger Beer, will be served. Also, look forward to a special video message from David Muir at the event! Presale DVDs of Erie: The Canal That Made America will be available before and after the film. $5/ticket discount for the Premiere Party, now through August 15. *PLEASE NOTE: Seating is limited RSVP by Sept. 5.
